Thank you for your interest in the

Plymouth Wildcats Softball team.

2008 was the sixth year for students attending  Plymouth High School (PHS), and was the fourth full Varsity season for the Wildcats softball program.  Plymouth H.S.  opened in the fall of 2003, welcoming a freshman only class.  Being a first year school,  PHS fielded only freshman athletic teams.  The Wildcat Softball team competed as a freshman  unit, and participated in several summer tournaments.

The 2004 school year welcomed both freshman and sophomore students through the doors of PHS.  Having 9th and 10th grade students, PHS athletic teams now grew to include freshman and junior varsity athletic teams. The junior varsity softball team won their varsity districts, and lost in a close game at regionals.

Entering the 2005 season, the Wildcats joined the Western Lakes league competed with some of the areas strongest competition, including cross campus rivals and friends Canton and Salem.  The 2005 campagin was a successful one in which the Wildcats posted a 23-10 record while having only 9-10-11th grade students.  The season culminated with the Wildcats winning the District 29 Championship.

In the spring of 2006 the Wildcats welcomed the first Senior class and as the school slogan goes the Wildcats were Fully Loaded. The Lady Cats compiled a record of 24-7-1 and were also the Western Lakes League Champions as they beat Canton for the first time in their Varsity history.

During the 2007 season the softball team became the first team in Plymouth High School history to be state ranked!  The Wildcats spent the last half of the season ranked #7 in Division 1 by the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association (MHSCAA).  The team posted a very successful season ending with a 24-6 record.

In 2008 both the Varsity and JV Wildcats posted successful seasons.  The varsity ended with a 21-15-1 record while the JV posted a 17-3 record.  The Varsity Wildcats battled through the end of the season to take home the championship trophy in a very competitive District 32!  The Wildcats defeated both cross campus rivals Canton and Salem to win the District title.

As the PHS family continues to grow, we invite you to come out and watch some of the communities finest young ladies play the exciting sport of fast pitch softball.
